C'mon... Think people...

What's good? This is the first real blog I have written since I started the site... it took me awhile to post it because other things came up... but here it goes...

I'm sitting here trying to think of some knowledge I can give to the people reading this blog... and how I can promote this knowledge and that when I'm watching "The Big Idea" on CNBC and there is the biggest promoter of all time... Don King... teaching some ladies how to promote some t-shirts they came up with... and I'm just thinking, what can I pull from this to put on the blog... then I'm like easy... not something on promoting... but thinking outside the box to promote or do anything big in this music industry...

Listen, you have to learn to think outside the box to take your music to the next level, especially when it comes to promoting... a lot of these people think they know everything because they had a few things pop around them, like drop a few mixtapes and sold them on the streets... U have to learn where to take direction and insight from places that will teach you the most of your consuming market... people think just because the people they know like the songs their labels make or because they know the singles that will make it to the top of the 106 & Park from when they first come out that they know it all about hip-hop... ok... you know songs that people like... but do U know how many people will actually buy the album? Or buy the ringtone? Or even buy the bootleg? Just because your song is better than 50 Cent's doesn’t mean it will sell more copies... you have to learn how to properly market yourself to the people that will buy your albums, not just listen to the song and like it... watching stuff like CNBC, or going to the MSN.com home page before you start surfing for the day will help you understand a little more why and who purchase things, do some research... Guessing the number 1 song of the day on 106 & Park will not help you get that far... ok... you know what is a hot song to the people, but if U had one of those songs, do U know what to do with it... think outside of the box on promoting it... whether you're an artist or executive you have to do this...

Listen, white people are the main people that will support what you do and buy your music, in the streets or stores... people want to sell all their music to the hood, and they are wondering why they are not getting that big yet.... everyone raps in the hood, everyone who doesn’t rap thinks they can if they wanted to... these white people don't think they can if they had the chance, they think highly of the people that can do it well because they don't know too many people who can rap better than 50 Cent, let alone SouljaBoy... trust me... HINT: learn how to tap into that white market while still keeping your hood appeal or staying true to you and you will always have money and album sales, but if you just want some fame and ringtone sales, make a dance track.... Holla back on what you think...
