MTV TOP 10 List

(Time just keeps slipping... this was supposed to be a last night post... but here I go...) Alight, tomorrow, (or I guess today), MTV will be debuting the newest list for the top hottest emcees of 07... which I guess is real great that they are updating the list yearly because this is actually giving rappers something to strive for... like new reason to keep it hot and keep us all happy... something BET should of been doing a long time ago(The BET awards just don't cut it)... but yeah, if I was a rapper in the game, this would be one of the list I would really want my name on, maybe even before a Diddy party or one of those little white girl's sweet sixteens... Now supposedly they changed the list up because 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg were unhappy with the list, but who cares about them... How could they be unhappy of their placement on the list, what did Snoop really do to be on the list for 06? and why would 50 be higher on the list than Lil Wayne? Cause he's rich? this is not about who is the hottest ever, who's the richest, who dropped the last single... it is just a list of the hottest emcees, the emcees everyone is talking about, the people with the most talent that are everywhere you look... for that year... Wayne deserves it... Everyone else rode his nuts, why not MTV? I actually think the MTV cornballs did a pretty decent job. But anyways, here is my list... Now my list is actually two lists, and not in any particular order... Y'all vote on this please... i will leave the poll open for a min...


Hottest in 07-08 (from the last list to now) list

Lil Wayne - Wayne was everywhere, every magazine cover, every remix, every song, all the TV shows... Wayne did it all... and the only thing the last list did for Wayne is give him the opportunity to be everywhere else... once he got that cosign from the white people,(and Sway), from MTV Wayne can do no wrong and they actually have more T-Mobile Ringtones from the dude... Even his mixtape tracks... Crazy... where does he place this year? Has his status really changed? Lollipop is like the #1 song of the summer so far...


Kanye West - Kanye is still hot no matter what... he found out Wayne was #1 last list and didn't compete or hate, he teamed up with him... Does that boost him to the top? Kanye was all over, winning awards... Kanye has the craziest tour of the year... That Glow In The Dark tour was sold out in seconds... Who else has done that recently? Not to mention the same promoter as Madonna... What doesnt make this dude the highest on the list?


50 Cent - 50 Cent was the main one complaining about his placement on the list... Has 50 paid his dues to be number 1? Album was 2nd highest selling for hiphop of 07... 50 is bringing the unit back, taking down Fat Joe, Going back at The Game, Dropping mixtapes again, On the verge of retiring, Making lots and lot of money... Why isn't 50 the hottest? I know every last one of you have been to Thisis50.com lately... Dude is really making an effort to be at the top, and i like it... I just don't really know if we care about 50 anymore, he acted like he didn't need the people, and now the people don't need 50... Who knows what will happen? Is MTV scarred or 50?


Soulja Boy - SouljaBoy is the ringtone king and the savior of Dance songs and anything wack... not that I'm hating on dude, but its kinda true... I actually love SouljaBoy's work ethic... anyone who wants to be famous quick has followed his style of music and tried to get a feature or beat from him... SouljaBoy has had success with all three of his singles, from the videos, to ringtones to myspace pages and beyond... I wasn't downloading his songs, but I will admit to yell Yahh to a few people that annoyed me... Not any old ladies or anything... but to enough people to know that Souljaboy was everywhere...

Andre 3000 - Yeah I know, What has Andre really done this year? Last year he did at least 4 verses, this year he did only two? But the two verses he did do were some of the hottest of the year... and everyone was talking about them... but actually, this isn't enough for me... I'm going to move him to the other list...


Rick Ross - Rick Ross was also everywhere... his album debuted at #1 I think... I can't really remember... That boss song was every one's anthem... Ross was on every remix with Khaled and what do you expect? Khaled was everywhere and Ricky was right there... That's hot... they the best right?


Nikki Minaj - Now I dare you to go to any Hip hop website or open any hip hop magazine and not be able to find Nikki Minaj... She really is one of the hottest emcees of the game right now... Lyrics is right, Image is right, Cosign from Wayne... Shawty is every where and she deserves it... she is on the come up and really needs to be watched...

Lupe Fiasco - Lupe is just the... well I don't know what to say about Lu, but he is definitely hot... Lupe is on the Glow In The Dark Tour, Lupe's video was doing well, he finally went gold... (Inside and outside the hood...) Lupe is starting to get his feature game up, international money is rolling in still, and the respect is just piling up... Lupe def deserves to be one of the hottest in the game right now...


Young Jeezy - The Snowman just knows how to keep it hot, Summertime or Winter... Jeezy is featured all over as well... He was on the Usher song, The Dream's new single and every other single in the hood... then he had the new mixtape I believe... Jeezy is all ways just hot... also USDA is doing well, I see BloodRaw's new video just came out...


TI - TI is still hot, everyone is talking about his new single produced by Danja... Yeah, the gun charge was a set back, but TI seems to be bouncing back from that responsibly and staying out of beef and the streets... Good job TI...

Plies - Who is hotter than Plies? Plies has also been getting his feature game up... I'M digging the flow and the ladies love him, the new Bust It Baby single is in heavy rotation on the radio and in the bedroom and all the ladies are saying it... Plies is hot to the ladies and goons...

Lil Boosie - This dude set the club on fire, every few months him and his clique release a new anthem for the club and the streets... Who is hotter than that? everyone was singing their song, dancing and wiping they self down to his music...





Now this is the list of the rappers that will be mad they didn't make the list:


Shawty Lo - This emcee had one of the biggest street singles around, the biggest remix of the year and had people jogging in place in the club... Shawty Lo wants TI and Bankhead to acknowledge him, why wouldn't he want MTV to do the same?


Fat Joe - Now i know Fat Joe might feel like he belong on the list, he most definitely is the elephant in the room... I mean Joe Crack has been in the game for so long, lyrics have improved... Joe is getting his feature and single game way up... I Wont Tell was hot... and Joe also has one of the hottest emcees in the game making full mixtapes about him? Why wouldn't he be surprised he isn't on the list... He actually almost belongs there... he stands right above Khaled... and they the best right?


Snoop Doog - He didn't make the list last time, didn't make the list this time... I would be mad too... plus now he actually has the Sensual Seduction single on his list this year... better stick to reality tv Snoop...


Flo Rida - Idk if the rest of the world think of him as an emcee, but if they don't and he does then I would be mad if I were him and I didn't make the list... Ringtone sales were crazy, two singles were crazy and had hot videos... Flo Rida was all over with his single, but he could of done more to make his presence as an artist felt...


Gorilla Zoe - Gorilla really put in some work to me... it seemed like every week Gorilla was putting out a remix, freestlye or new song of some sort... ZOE was even one of the first to start experimenting with autotune like Wayne... I would kind of be mad if i were him to not make the list...

Bow Wow - This dude prob thinks he should be at the top... idk, he is getting his feature game up, and his lyrics have curiously improved... The main reason he didn't make the list is because no one wants to give this Disney legend a chance in the game anymore... he just needs to re figure his image... he can do it... I believe in Bow Weezy...

And Andre 3000 again - Hell naw, he cant do less than last year and still make the list... yeah right... better step your work ethic up three stacks... I like what you doing... but I want you to do more to make my list...

As MTV prepares to premiere their popular "Hottest MCs In The Game" show tonight, Rick Ross gave the program props as he compared the set-up as similar to the classic Hip Hop ciphers.
“I remember catching the ‘Hottest MCs [In The Game]’ show and I was impressed with that historic old-school cipher feel. Everybody popped off, everybody did their thing,” the Miami boss told MTV News.
The program focuses on a panel of around nine Hip Hop experts who each create their own Top 10 list of current emcees creating a significant buzz. Giving their top artist a total of ten points and each predecessor a point less from each panelist’s chart, a master list is created. The show has received both positive and negative feedback, as artists like 50 Cent were displeased with their placements.
Continuing to boast about the show’s essential New York and authentic Hip Hop feel, Ross elaborated on why the show is such a respected construction.
“That’s that real Hip Hop feel, that real New York feel—that real feeling. When I see those artists, I know they really still studying their craft.
